Was born on 11 May 1949. In 1968 graduated from the Kulibin River School in Gorky (currently Nizhny Novgorod). In 1974 graduated from the Kaliningrad Higher Naval College. In 1974-1977 served in the Baltic Fleet. In 1980 graduated from the Military Diplomatic Academy. In 1980-2001 served in military units of the Baltic and Pacific Fleets. In 2001 was transferred to the reserve. In 2002-2010 served in the army as civil agent. Headed a member company of InstaForex Companies Group in 2010.
