Brazil's Industrial Employment Drops In December

Brazil's industrial employment decreased 0.6% month-on-month in December, taking the annual decline to 2.7%, the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics said Tuesday. In 2009 as a whole, employment in the industrial sector fell 5.3%.

In the fourth quarter, employment rose 1.6% sequentially, much better than just 0.3% rise seen in the third quarter.
