Ales Loprais is the pilot and PR manager of InstaForex Loprais Team, and entrepreneur in Tatra trucks parts manufacture.

Ales Loprais was born on 10 January 1980 in Olomouc, the Czech Republic. He was born in a family of rally champions and brought up in an atmosphere of endless preparations for rallies. Since his first days, Ales has taken full part in repair of vehicles and spent his free time in the workshop rather than at home.

In an exclusive interview for InstaForex TV, Karel Loprais – Ales’ uncle and six-time champion of Paris-Dakar, the most difficult rally worldwide, – said that Ales was only seven when he first took the wheel of his Tatra truck and chose it as his walk in life. Although the parents insisted on Ales’ studying law in a Czech university, the future rally driver was never to become a lawyer.

Along with rallies, Ales has been keen on extreme sports. He has explored mountains on his bike, bailed out and hanged glide. Once his adventures even resulted in a fracture of two vertebrae, but Ales luckily has not developed any complications. However, he had to give up further flying experiments.

Karel Loprais got hurt at a rally in 2006 and had to finish his sports career. Ales decided to succeed his uncle’s way, and in 2007 he took the wheel of a rally truck and got a prize place at the Dakar rally.

In 2008 and 2009 Ales took the bronze at the Central Europe Rally and the Silk Way rally.

As part of InstaForex Loprais Team, Ales achieved the long-awaited gold at the Silk Way rally in 2011.

According to Ales, rallies are neither work nor hobby for him; they are his family’s history and his lifestyle.
