Orange. About company

Orange is a French telecommunication company. It is one of the top mobile operators and Internet providers in the world.

Known as France Telekom since 1994, the firm was later renamed Orange.

The company boasts a wide clientele and operates in 23 countries, sometimes under a different brand name. Thus, the firm is called Orange Armenia in Armenia as well as Mobistar and Mobini in Belgium and Egypt respectively.

Orange has quite a few subsidiaries, i.e. OCS, a paid TV network, which is another important source of the company’s income.

Orange’s shares and factors shaping their value

Orange was at the height of popularity in the early 2000s. Later, it faced challenges brought by the competitive environment but managed to stay afloat and preserve its clientele.

Orange’s shares hit an all-time high of €150 in 2000. By the end of 2021, Orange already traded at less than €10 per share. Notably, the value of the firm’s stock has been relatively low for about 20 years. Between 2001 and 2002, the price fell to €20 and then €10 from the highs recorded in 2000.

When trading the firm’s stock, you should keep track of:

  • Earnings reports;
  • Competitor news;
  • Company news;
  • Release of new products, i.e., movies and TV series.

Although Orange’s shares cost little, they can still bring you a profit. The main thing here is to analyze factors that shape their value.
