Whatever they say, Donald Trump can be kind and generous. The President of the United States has granted a new extension for Huawei allowing the Chinese tech giant to continue doing business with US companies for another 90 days. Although the list of American companies the Chinese manufacturer can cooperate with is limited, it is better than nothing. In fact, this license is an exception to the general rule. The state of emergency declared by Donald Trump in May this year to protect the country's information and communications infrastructure from foreign threats cannot be avoided but, as it turns out, some restrictions can be delayed. Huawei blacklisted because of national security concerns is still taking advantage of this exception. As a result, a number of US companies is still able to supply the Chinese firm with their products which are not a threat to US national security.
